Also known as the Mountain Ash, the Rowan tree (Sorbus aucuparia) is a very popular fast growing native tree, reaching up to 20m. Produces attractive red berries and leaves turn an attractive shade of orange in autumn. Thrives in open, dry and wet areas.
In folklore the Rowan is one of the most magical and mystical of trees believed to ward off witches and evil spririts and considered so sacred that they were rarely cut down or burnt. The Rowan tree makes an attractive ornamental garden tree. The red berries are much liked by birds and will encourage them into your garden.
The current height of the trees is approximately 20-40cm and they can be planted out all year round. Each Wedding Favour consists of a single Rowan tree packed into a black drawstring bag then into a presentation eco friendly cotton bag.
